Following sell-out performances at Wilton’s Music Hall and Bristol Old Vic, Max Stafford-Clark’s acclaimed production of All That Fall by Samuel Beckett will immediately transfer to the West End, playing at the Arts Theatre from 13 April – 14 May. The returning cast are Bríd Brennan, Tara Flynn, Frank Laverty and Ciaran McIntyre. Adrian Dunbar will take over as Mr Rooney (Dan) from 18 April with Gary Lilburn remaining in the role from 13 – 16 April. Press Night is Monday 18 April, 8pm. Tickets go on sale today.
Originally written for radio, All That Fall is performed to blindfolded theatregoers, who share the space with a cast who perform the play around them, enhanced by a rich 360° sound design by Dyfan Jones.
A funny, chilling and touching journey of words and sounds, All That Fall is one of Beckett’s most naturalistic plays, inspired by boyhood memories of his native Foxrock in Ireland. It is a play about faltering journeys: an old woman sets out to greet her husband at the station on his birthday, only for events to take a deeply unsettling turn.

Tony Award-winner Bríd Brennan plays the unforgettable Maddy Rooney – crotchety and funny, self-pitying and self-important, and defiant in her small, strained act of love. Adrian Dunbar joins the cast as her enigmatic husband. Adrian can currently be seen on TV screens in the hugely popular series ‘Line of Duty’ on BBC Two.
The transfer of All That Fall means that Out of Joint will have two shows back to back at the Arts Theatre. All That Fall is followed by A View From Islington North, an evening of short political satires by Alistair Beaton, Caryl Churchill, Stella Feehily, David Hare and Mark Ravenhill. It plays from 18 May – 2 July.
