According to Chortle, Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders will star in Noel Coward‘s comedy play Blithe Spirit, opening at the Theatre Royal Bath on 13 June 2019.
Jennifer Saunders is set to play clairvoyant Madame Arcati, the kooky medium who is summonsed to the home of a writer to conduct a seance to help get ideas for his next book.
Jennifer was last seen on stage in Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan at the Vaudeville Theatre in 2018.
Blithe Spirit first premiered in the West End in 1941 and has had many revivals over the years both in London and on Broadway. Most recently, the show was revived in the West End in 2014, starring Angela Lansbury as Madame Arcati.
Tickets for Blithe Spirit at the Theatre Royal Bath go on sale 7 March 2019.
