‘An Evening With Kathy Burke’ comes to the West End

For one night only (23 November 2020), Kathy Burke will join TV presenter, and recent winner of Celebrity MasterChef, Riyadh Khalaf, at the Lyric Theatre in London, for a socially distant tête-à-tête at The Lyric Theatre in London. Burke and Khalaf will discuss her extraordinary life and career and how she became one of the UK’s most beloved actresses and directors.

Speaking about the show, Kathy Burke said: “I’m really looking forward to a good old natter with Riyadh in front of (hopefully) more than six people.”

Burke will be donating her appearance fee to the Make A Difference Trust Covid Fund. The donation will help those on stage and behind the scenes get the financial assistance they need during this incredibly challenging time for the arts community.

Following UK Government guidelines, specific safety measures have been put in place for those attending the show. These include a maximum of six people per group, one metre plus distance between groups, contactless ticketing, staggered arrival times, one-way systems and pre-ordered drinks.

A new online ticketing system uses an algorithm that will allow theatregoers to choose specific seats. The necessary space around them will be automatically removed to ensure social distancing. Click here to read more about that.

Kathy Burke is one of the UK’s most loved entertainers. With a career spanning nearly four decades, Burke is best known for her roles in Nil by Mouth, Harry Enfield and Chums, Absolutely Fabulous, Tinker Taylor Solider Spy and Gimme Gimme Gimme. Burke took a step back from acting twenty years ago to focus on directing, including stage productions of Lady Windermere’s Fan, Boom Bang a Bang, Once a Catholic, The Quare Fellow, Kosher Harry and most recently I Think We Are Alone. Burke returned to the small screen in 2019, creating the documentary Kathy Burke’s All Woman, a tongue-in-cheek exploration of society’s unattainable beauty standards.
