COMING SOON

BEST SEATS AT THE PHOENIX THEATRE

The Phoenix Theatre has three seating levels: Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle. It’s a deep, tall auditorium but has surprisingly few obstructions, so sightlines are generally strong throughout.

STALLS

The Stalls hold 490 seats and put you right in amongst the action, which suits a big, immersive production like Stranger Things: The First Shadow. The stage is raked, so views stay clear even towards the back.

DRESS CIRCLE

The Dress Circle holds 284 seats and offers a great overview of the stage, especially useful for a show with a lot of staging spectacle. Front and middle rows are the sweet spot.

GRAND CIRCLE

The Grand Circle holds 254 seats and is the highest, most affordable level. It’s a steep climb but the view down onto the stage is still clear thanks to the theatre’s tall, narrow shape.

HOW TO GET TO THE PHOENIX THEATRE

The Phoenix Theatre sits on the corner of Charing Cross Road, right by Tottenham Court Road. The nearest tube station is Tottenham Court Road (Central, Northern and Elizabeth lines), just a couple of minutes’ walk away.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX THEATRE

The Phoenix Theatre opened on 24th September 1930, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, Bertie Crewe and Cecil Massey, with a striking neoclassical exterior and an ornate Italianate interior. It opened with Noël Coward’s Private Lives, starring Coward himself alongside Gertrude Lawrence and a young Laurence Olivier – a connection still honoured today in the theatre’s Noël Coward Bar.

Over the decades the Phoenix has hosted major long runners, including the musical Canterbury Tales in the late 1960s and Blood Brothers, which ran here for 21 years from 1991 to 2012, making it the theatre’s longest-running production. It’s a Grade II listed building and has been owned and operated by Ambassador Theatre Group.
