COMING SOON

The Book of Mormon is currently booking through to 23rd January 2027, and there’s no confirmed show announced to follow it yet. I’ll update this page as soon as the Prince of Wales’s next production is announced.

BEST SEATS AT THE PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE

The Prince of Wales Theatre has two seating levels: Stalls and Circle. It’s a modern, well-raked auditorium, so sightlines are strong throughout, which is handy for a show as visually busy as The Book of Mormon.

STALLS

The Stalls hold 666 seats and benefit from a generous rake, keeping views clear even towards the back. Central rows give the best all-round experience of the show’s comedy and choreography.

CIRCLE

The Circle holds 453 seats and gives a great overview of the stage and the full company numbers. Front rows are excellent value, though a safety rail in some rows can affect the view slightly.

HOW TO GET TO THE PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE

The Prince of Wales Theatre is on Coventry Street, just off Piccadilly Circus. The nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines), literally a minute’s walk away, with Leicester Square also close by.

ABOUT THE PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE

The theatre first opened in January 1884 as the Prince’s Theatre, designed by C. J. Phipps, before being renamed the Prince of Wales Theatre in 1886 in honour of the future Edward VII. Its early hit, a musical version of Alice in Wonderland, was so successful that its authors used the profits to help build the Lyric Theatre.

The original building was demolished and rebuilt in 1937 by Robert Cromie, and the refurbished theatre later hosted the UK premiere of Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator and a Beatles performance for the Royal Variety Show in 1963. It’s been home to major long-running musicals including Mamma Mia! and now The Book of Mormon, and is owned and operated by Delfont Mackintosh Theatres.

Is the Prince of Wales Theatre okay for vertigo sufferers?

The Circle here has a bit of a reputation – it’s reached only by stairs (there’s no lift), and theatregoers regularly describe it as notably steep, with some steps lacking a handrail. The theatre’s own access information doesn’t recommend this level for anyone with limited mobility, which is worth bearing in mind if steep, high seating makes you uneasy too. The Stalls are step-free from the main foyer and a much steadier option – ask the box office about seating there if you’d rather skip the Circle altogether.
