It has been announced that West End Wilma Award Winner, Cynthia Erivo will return to the West End stage for the first time in over ten years, to star in the one-actor, Sydney Theatre Company production of Bram Stoker‘s Dracula.
Dracula will run from 4 February – 31 May 2026 at the Noel Coward Theatre.
Brought to London, from Australia, by the producers of the recent production of The Picture of Dorian Gray at Theatre Royal Haymarket (now playing on Broadway until 29 June 2026), this one-hour fifty-minute production will see Cynthia play twenty-three roles, including the title character.
Cynthia started her West End career in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg at the Gielgud Theatre in 2011 before touring the UK in Sister Act the Musical. In 2013, she played the role of Celie in the critically acclaimed production of The Color Purple at the Menier Chocolate Factory (which she later played on Broadway). During her run in the short-lived, West End X Factor musical I Can’t Sing, Cynthia won the 2014 Rising Star award at the first ever West End Wilma Awards.
In recent years, Cynthia has sky-rocketed to Hollywood fame and has become a household name for playing Elphaba in the 2024 film musical of Wicked. Part two of the movie will be released on 21 November 2025, shortly before rehearsals for Dracula begin. Before that, Cynthia will be hosting the Tony Awards on 8 June before playing Jesus in the Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar in August. She is busy!
