The Ballad of Johnny & June – UK and Ireland Tour

After sold-out seasons in New York and Canada, the new musical The Ballad of Johnny & June is heading to the UK and Ireland in 2026.

This highly anticipated production celebrates the legendary love story of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash and will feature all their greatest hits — including I Walk the Line, Ring of Fire, Jackson, Hey Porter, and I’ve Been Everywhere.

Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, The Who’s Tommy, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical), The Ballad of Johnny & June opens at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on 2 March 2026, before touring more than 20 major venues across the UK and Ireland.

About The Ballad of Johnny & June

The Ballad of Johnny & June tells the epic love story of country music icons Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash — two artists whose passion, talent, and struggles made them global legends.

Johnny Cash was one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 90 million records sold, 13 Grammy Awards, and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. June Carter Cash was a trailblazer in her own right, winning five Grammy Awards across her remarkable career. The pair married in 1968 and remained devoted to one another until June’s passing in 2003.

Told through the eyes of their son John Carter Cash, this brand-new musical explores the soaring highs and heartbreaking lows of a relationship that changed the face of music forever.

A Celebration of Love, Struggle and Redemption

Producer Howard Panter said:

A journey through love, struggle and redemption told through some of the greatest music ever written and brought to life by an exceptional creative team.
