L’Uomo Più Crudele del Mondo (The Cruellest Man in the World), a major contemporary Italian theatre production written and directed by Davide Sacco, will be performed at London’s Leicester Square Theatre for one night only.

Starring two of Italy’s most acclaimed stage and screen actors, Lino Guanciale and Francesco Montanari, the production will be presented in Italian with English surtitles, offering London audiences the opportunity to discover one of the most compelling recent works of Italian theatre.

Inside a bare, abandoned warehouse, the powerful owner of Europe’s largest weapons company agrees to be interviewed by a young journalist. What begins as a formal conversation soon becomes a tense psychological confrontation in which roles constantly shift, certainties collapse and moral boundaries begin to blur.

Why has the young man really been invited there? Who is questioning whom? And what happens when the distinction between victim and perpetrator becomes increasingly difficult to sustain?

Through a relentless, fast-paced dialogue, the play explores the fragile line between humanity and brutality, power and responsibility, instinct and reason. It refuses to offer an easy opposition between good and evil, instead asking the audience to consider how cruelty can hide behind respectability, professional success, silence and apparently rational choices.

Lino Guanciale and Francesco Montanari are widely recognised in Italy for their work across theatre, cinema and television. Their encounter on stage creates an intense theatrical duel, built upon tension, physicality and a constantly changing balance of power.

The production is performed in Italian with English surtitles and runs for approximately 65 minutes without an interval.
