Les Enfants Terribles and ebp in association with Creature of London are delighted to announce the smash hit “ALICE’S ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND” and the children’s show “ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND” will both return to The Vaults in 2017.
Following sell out performances of this unmissable show last summer which had over 100,000 visitors, culminating in a nomination for the 2016 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and Family show; “ALICE’S ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND” – originally conceived as a celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s classic novel of the same name – will play a limited season from 15 April 2017 – 23 September 2017, with press night on Tuesday 25 April 2017.
For the 2017 season, there will be a limited number of tickets for under 26s at £25 each. The tickets are for the first performance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the run. Standard ticket prices range from £39.00 to £71.50 (£31.50 – £54.00 during previews).
“ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND”, the critically acclaimed, multi-sensory experience created and directed specifically for children aged 5 to 10 from Les Enfant Terribles award-winning children’s theatre company Les Petits, is also back and will play a limited season from 13 May 2017 – 3 September 2017, with press morning on Saturday 20 May 2017.
With even more twists and turns for 2017, “ALICE’S ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND” invites you deep into The Vaults, hidden beneath Waterloo station, to lose yourself in a land far removed from our own. Tumble down the rabbit hole falling fast into Wonderland and experience immersion like never before in this interactive, puppetry-packed, fusion of storytelling, music, circus and spectacle…but this isn’t Alice’s adventure, it’s yours…
Make a series of choices; Eat or drink? Grow or Shrink? And find yourself at the centre of the story as you wander through Wonderland, piecing together the puzzle as to what has happened to Alice who is lost in the looking glass. Be careful as your choice leads you down a completely different path into Wonderland; you might grow to enormous proportions and become one of Wonderland’s elite rubbing shoulders with the highest of playing card suits; or you might shrink to be so small that even boarder control can’t detect you; take tea at the biggest un-birthday party with the maddest of Hatters; let the Cheshire Cat take you hither or thither or you could even find yourself playing a key part in an underground resistance movement to rise against the fearsome Queen. “ALICE’S ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND” is written by Oliver Lansley and Anthony Spargo and directed by Oliver Lansley and James Seager.
Pushing the boundaries of children’s theatre “ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND” allows families to explore Wonderland up close, in an immense multi-room set in the Vaults under Waterloo station. In this hour long show, children will play a part in controlling their own experience, as they search for Alice who is missing in Wonderland. On entering Wonderland whether you ‘Eat me’ or ‘Drink Me’ will determine your unique path. Tumble with the Tweedle twins; follow the White Rabbit and take Tea with the Hatter at the Maddest Tea Party of all! “ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND” is adapted by Oliver Lansley and Anthony Spargo directed by Emma Earle (Mr Popper’s Penguins).
