Tonight, the 60th Evening Standard London Theatre Awards took place at the London Palladium in front of a star studded audience including David and Victoria Beckham. Lots of surprises in there and I’m sorry so say a lot of people/shows I’m not really even familiar with! I think this goes to show there are two types of theatre-goers, the mainstream and the high brow. I seem to be very much mainstream!
Huge congrats to Laura Jane Matthewson for her Emerging Talent Award… well deserved!
Well done to Kate Bush too for winning the Editors Award! Quite where that fits in to a theatre awards ceremony I’m not sure but I hear her show was very theatrical!
