It was announced this weekend, at fan expo D23, that the live stage version of Frozen, starring Samantha Barks, which was previously recorded for future release, will be streaming on Disney+ in 2025.
Frozen the Musical, which opened at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2021, will close on 8 September 2024 after a three year run. Following the closure of Frozen, Jamie Lloyd will be bringing two Shakespeare plays to the stage with The Tempest starring BAFTA winner Sigourney Weaver, making her West End debut as Prospero; and Much Ado About Nothing starring Tom Hiddleston (Benedick) and Hayley Atwell (Beatrice).
In the Summer of 2025, Disney’s musical Hercules is set to open, before a newly rumoured musical adaption of The Greatest Showman in 2026.
