Maggie Siff and Hugh Bonneville to Star in Shadowlands at London’s Aldwych Theatre

Acclaimed stage and screen actor Maggie Siff (Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, Billions) will make her West End debut as Joy Davidman in William Nicholson’s award-winning play Shadowlands. The production opens at London’s Aldwych Theatre for a limited run from 5 February to 9 May 2026.

Siff stars opposite Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington, Twenty Twelve), who takes on the role of C.S. Lewis — the world-renowned author of The Chronicles of Narnia.

A Moving West End Revival of a Classic Love Story

Shadowlands tells the true story of C.S. Lewis and Joy Davidman, whose unexpected romance transforms both their lives. What begins as a meeting of minds soon becomes a deeply emotional journey of love, loss, and faith, exploring the fragile beauty of life with warmth and humanity.

Originally produced by Chichester Festival Theatre in 2019 and directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, this critically acclaimed production now transfers to the West End, bringing its heartfelt storytelling and moving performances to a wider audience.

About Shadowlands
