Only Fools and Horses star Tessa Peake-Jones leads heartfelt comedy drama Invisible Me about love, lust and dating after sixty
Southwark Playhouse Borough from Wednesday 8th April – Saturday 2nd May 2026

Heading into a four-week London run, Invisible Me redefines singleton stereotypes in this heartfelt and hilarious comedy drama by Bren Gosling (LOVE, The Edge Theatre; Moment of Grace, Bloomsbury Festival, The Hope Theatre; Proud, Kings Head Theatre).
The production follows three Londoners as they steer through the trials and tribulations of hitting sixty, being single and not wanting to be either.
Invisible Me follows three working class Londoners as they re-enter the dating game.
Proving that sixty is just the beginning, formidable actress Tessa Peake-Jones (Only Fools and Horses, BBC; Grantchester, ITV; The Five Wives of Maurice Pinder, National Theatre) plays Lynn, a hotel cleaner with secret desires.
With decades appearing on our screens and stages, Peake-Jones brings authenticity to the role, capturing Lynn’s ordinary life lived extraordinarily.
Using unfiltered narratives Invisible Me also follows HIV+, recent widower Jack, as he grapples with getting back out there after three-decades of coupledom.
Then there’s ‘retired’ punk Alec, still living in his glory days, who gets a big wake up call, when he thinks he’s just pulled. The curtain is lifted on mature dating and every Londoner’s search for connection, in a warm, heartfelt story about love and need for community.
Direction will be led by Stage Award nominated director Scott Le Crass (Rose, Park Theatre & West End; The Olive Boy, Southwark Playhouse Borough; Country Music, Clapham Omnibus) who captures the true essence and camaraderie of this unlikely trio.
Playwright Bren Gosling’s intention to show that sexual fantasies and desires are all the norm for sexagenarians is championed as audiences are reminded of the need to connect with one another. In an age group where society assumes loneliness is inevitable, Invisible Me shows that optimism and love can, in the end triumph overall.
Director, Scott Le Crass comments, When I first read Invisible Me what struck me was that it gave much needed space to older narratives that is refreshing, surprising and honest. The idea of not feeling seen or heard is so universal and what our sense of community means is something that I think has great importance at the moment.
