IMITATIONS – a new comedy-drama transferring to Riverside Studios following a sold-out London debut.
Set over the course of one evening in a Manchester flat, IMITATIONS follows Bea, whose evening takes an unexpected turn when a surprise visit from childhood best friend Frank leads the two down the twisted path of memory lane, where old memories resurface and long-buried truths begin to emerge. Think Waiting for Godot meets Scenes with Girls.
Written by and starring Anna Ticehurst — described by critics as “a writing talent to watch” — the play combines sharp humour with honest conversations around mental health, love and grief. Through warmth, wit and compassion, IMITATIONS celebrates the
transformative power of friendship, centring a platonic relationship between a straight man and a queer woman — a dynamic still rarely explored on stage.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ “A captivating and thought-provoking examination of how friends can
help each other by talking through their issues, told through humour and heart.”
