LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL set to come to London

Little Women Bridewell Theatre

Little Women the Musical to play London’s Bridewell Theatre, featuring the original full orchestration.

Sedos presents a new production of Little Women, the musical, at the Bridewell Theatre, off Fleet Street, from 27 June-1 July 2017. The musical, which is based on the beloved book by Louisa May Alcott has book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.

This new production is directed by Robert J. Stanex, with musical direction by Ryan Macaulay, features the full 12-piece orchestration, a cast of 10 and a bespoke wardrobe of costumes created by costume designer Deborah Lean.

Against the backdrop of Civil War, aspiring writer Jo hides from life’s difficulties in her attic and pens stories of adventure. With her father away, Jo and her sisters must learn to negotiate love, loss and life under the ever-loving watch of their beloved Marmee. But despite tragedy and heartbreak, the March sisters discover that in reality the true adventure is life itself.

Based loosely on her own life, and her relationship with her family, Louisa May Alcott wrote the books that have inspired millions of children to challenge stereotypes. This much-loved musical adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel is suitable for all the family and reminds us that sometimes when you dream, your dreams come true.

The original broadway production opened in 2005 with Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Jo. The show features the popular female audition song ‘Astonishing’ as well as other numbers including: ‘Better’, ‘Some Things are Meant to Be’ and ‘Days of Plenty’.
