Award-winning Australian cabaret star Michael Griffiths returns to perform in London following sell-out performances at Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he premieres his show ‘Lucky: Songs By Kylie’. The Helpmann Award winner for ‘Best Cabaret Performer’ meets the pop princess Kylie Minogue in an exploration of songs, stories and locomotion with ‘Lucky’ after rave reviews at this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival. This alongside two of his critically acclaimed previous shows ‘In Vogue: Songs By Madonna’ and ‘Cole: Songs By Cole Porter’ will embark on a short London season at the end of August at Crazy Coqs/Live at Zedel.
Michael Griffiths is here to steal your hearts and captivate the crowd with his personal tributes to Kylie Minogue, Cole Porter & Madonna, where he takes the role of ringmaster in the musical circus. His handsome harmonies and Broadway’s voice make for infectious listening and leave him instantly likeable with his audience. A viewer can expect nothing less than involuntary head bopping, finger clicking and seat shuffling as they are taken on a musical journey through the artists’ lives, sharing many of their hit songs and anecdotes.
Michael won the Helpmann Award for Best Cabaret Performer in 2016 for his Cole Porter tribute. His one-man cabaret shows In Vogue: Songs By Madonna, Sweet Dreams: Songs By Annie Lennox and Adolescent have delighted critics and audiences across every cabaret festival in Australia and beyond to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong, Auckland and Edinburgh Fringe where he received 5 star reviews and standing ovations.
