Tony and Olivier award-winning director Marianne Elliott was joined by Rosalie Craig, Patti LuPone and Mel Giedroyc at Joe Allen American Restaurant in Covent Garden today (Tuesday 10 April) to officially launch the West End’s highly anticipated new production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s award-winning musical comedy set in New York. Elliott & Harper Productions’ Company opens at the Gielgud Theatre for a limited run on 26 September 2018 and is directed by Marianne Elliott.
David Benedict, Stephen Sondheim’s official biographer hosted a discussion with Rosalie Craig who will play the re-gendered lead role of Bobbi, Tony and Olivier Award-winning Broadway star Patti LuPone who will play Joanne and star of TV and stage Mel Giedroyc who will play Sarah alongside Marianne Elliott.
Marianne Elliott, Artistic Director and co-founder of Elliott & Harper Productions, recently returned to the UK following the hugely successful Broadway transfer of her Olivier-winning production of Angels in America by Tony Kushner. Her other work includes the internationally successful productions of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and War Horse.
The launch included an exclusive first performance of Being Alive from Company sung by Rosalie Craig .
