From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st century girl power.
Think you know the six Wives of Henry VIII? Think again…
The crowning glory of the West End, Broadway and beyond, history is about to get over-throne in the homegrown hit musical sensation, SIX, live at the Vaudeville Theatre.
Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, prepare to lose your head and experience the Tudor Wives’ lives as they turn back the clock and take to the stage to reclaim their crowns and retell their stories of love, loss and the infamous ex they all have in common.
Join Aragon, Boleyn, Seymour, Cleves, Howard and Parr, backed by their fiercely all-female band, the Ladies in Waiting, and Get Down to a royal retelling of the sassiest story in British Her-story.
The current West End company are Rhianne-Louise McCaulsky (Aragon), Baylie Carson (Boleyn), Claudia Kariuki (Seymour), Dionne Ward-Anderson (Cleves), Koko Basigara (Howard), and Roxanne Couch (Parr).
REVIEW (Vaudeville Theatre, 2023) ★★★★★
Uni mates Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss had the idea for Six The Musical while studying in their final year at Cambridge. Soon afterward the show debuted as part of the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival presented by the Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society. It’s safe to say, the Queens of Six are reining supreme all around the world. These Queens may have green sleeves but their lipstick is rebellious red!
REVIEW: SIX THE MUSICAL (Lyric Theatre 2021) ★★★★★
Six women, one pop group, but who will be the lead singer? The only fair way to decide – who ever can demonstrate they had the worst marriage to Henry. One by one the girls take it in turns to sing a song about how bad they had it with ol’ Henry before finally deciding who is best suited to the job.
REVIEW: SIX (Arts Theatre, 2019) ★★★★★
Perhaps one of the most (in)famous kings there ever was, Henry VIII is remembered for many things. However, Brits in particular know him for his six wives. We all have our favourites (Anne Boleyn has always been a heroine of mine… and yes I probably would’ve had my head chopped off too), but each of these women had their own story to tell. And they’ve finally got a platform.
