Music, cabaret and variety festival THE BIG SMOKE comes to London

The Big Smoke is a brand-new music, cabaret and variety festival featuring some of London’s most outstanding talent. From West End stars to award-winning drag artists, there will be shows for everyone to enjoy during this week-long celebration at The Other Palace 8 – 15 July 2018.

The Festival will include performances from Cassie Compton, The IDA Girls, Kiki Deville, Eliza Jackson, The Jersey Quartet, Jodie Steel & Joel Harper-Jackson, Kayleigh McNight and Velma Celli who stars in ICONIC: A Brief History of Drag, with many more yet to be announced.

Ian Stroughair is best known for his work as an actor in Musical Theatre & TV (Rent, Cats, Fame, Chicago, Eastenders) and as the award-winning international cabaret star Velma Celli. He said:
“I have wanted to curate a new festival in London for a while now. During my career, I have been very fortunate to play some of the top festivals in the world, including Edinburgh, Perth and Adelaide – I think it’s time for London to have an annual home for variety too. I am a great admirer of the work The Other Place has been achieving – new, fresh and forward-thinking – and with such a great team to collaborate with, I knew it would be the perfect venue for The Big Smoke’s debut! I am also thrilled to have brought on board Robin Rayner as general manager and co-producer.”

More shows will be announced on 4th June 2018.
