Daily Mail reporter and king of theatre news announcements Baz Bamigboye has given us the news that we have been hearing on the rumour mill for a while now. Mary Poppins is set to return to the West End in 2019 at the Prince Edward Theatre.
Reprising her role of Mary Poppins from the recent UK Tour will be Zizi Strallen (currently in Strictly Ballroom the Musical) with Charlie Stemp alongside her as sidekick Bert. Charlie has recently been on Broadway staring in Hello Dolly with Bette Midler and made a huge impact on the West End scene in Half A Sixpence (which saw him crowned 2017 Rising Star at the West End Wilma Awards).
Matthew Bourne and Stephen Mear are to choreograph the show which will go on sale in January 2019.
Aladdin, which is currently playing at the Prince Edward Theatre is set to close in August 2019.
