Award-winning biographical musical rollercaster, Somewhere Under The Rainbow The Liza Minnelli Story, is to get it’s eagerly awaited London premiere at the Landor Theatre from Monday 12 – Saturday 17 May.
Following a sold-out Irish tour and rave reviews at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Somewhere Under The Rainbow The Liza Minnelli Story features Sharon Sexton – currently in the West End cast of The Commitments – delivering her award-winning, compelling portrayal of Ms Minnelli, sharing legendary stories and secrets from a fascinating career and belting her way through many of the signature tunes from the Minnelli songbook, including Mein Herr, Some People and Maybe This Time to name just a few.
Written by award-winning Cillian O’Donnachadha, this stunning one-woman show is set in the intimacy of Liza’s dressing room, where the diva invites the audience to step beyond the footlights and decide for themselves what is truth and illusion about her life and career.
It charts the illustrious performer’s life, loves and music, as Liza steps out from the shadows of her superstar mother, Judy Garland, to establish a substantial career as a performer in her own right. But sometimes it’s hard to tell where the rainbow ends and the horizon begins…
