She received her first Olivier nomination for “Best Actress in a Musical” aged just 18 for her West End debut performance as Wendla Bergman in the original London cast of Spring Awakening (Lyric Hammersmith/Novello Theatre). Since then she has gone on to create and originate many roles in new musicals both in the West End and regionally including Gemma in The Great British Bake Off Musical (Noël Coward Theatre/Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham), Miss Windsor in The Boy in the Dress (RSC) and Ethel Salomons in The Dreamers (Abbey Road Studios). Charlotte’s performance as Maria in The Sound of Music at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre saw her receive broad critical acclaim and a second Olivier Award nomination for “Best Actress in a Musical”.
