New Christmas Musical Workshop ‘DASHING’ Shows Real Promise

An exclusive full length workshop concert of DASHING – A New Christmas Musical was presented at London’s Underbelly Boulevard this festive season.

The new West End theatrical home, Underbelly Boulevard, has started how it intends to go on – hard and fast.

Earlier this year they welcomed musical comedy duo Flo & Joan to the stage to show their newest ‘One Man Musical’ and now, to finish the year, is one half of cabaret sensation Frisky & Mannish, Matthew Floyd Jones with a workshop performance of ‘Dashing – A New Christmas Musical’.

With a script by Will Jackson, Music by Matthew Floyd Jones and Lyrics by both, the festive story sees a magical snowstorm hit Patterbridge on Christmas Eve.

With decoration disasters, runaway robot reindeer, and the town’s only gay bar facing closure, can our lovable townsfolk save Christmas – or at least fall in love trying?!

The stand-out performance in this workshop performance was Antonia Strafford-Taylor who steals the show as the spoilt little child who runs away from their mother and decides to play matchmaker and bring the recently split couple back together.

DASHING is a heart-warming new British musical. A queer rom-com romp, filled with fabulous songs that I am sure will be back on stage, even bigger and better very soon.

DASHING – A New Christmas Musical played 18 – 23 December 2025 at London’s Underbelly Boulevard Theatre.
