WestEndFest is back for its first concert of 2014 on March the 2nd at The Actors Church in Covent Garden!
It was founded two years ago by Sabrina Aloueche and Parnell Page.. and has since become a hugely popular bi-annual celebration combining dance, comedy, songs and raising lots of money for charity.
It incorporates themes each time, the last one being “Mis-cast” where singers from the west end stage attempted to deliver first class performances in roles they would never normally be cast in.
This was both awe inspiring in some areas (Katie Hall singing Gethsemane) and highly comical in others (Niall Sheehy singing Electricity as Billy Elliot complete with ballet routine..)!
This time around the compare of the event- Scott Garnham decided on the theme- ‘Songs you love (BUT SHOULDN’T)!!’.
Performers will attempt to sing their guilty pleasures!
Expect many laughs and also perhaps even a few surprises! We have our own home-made boy band performing once again, which was founded by original boy band member Aaron Sidwell .. they were given the name ‘Wrong Direction’ and brought the house down last year!
The charities that WestEndFest support and raise money for are The Cystic Fibrosis Trust and CRY UK (an organisation that helps raise awareness and helps to raise funds for cardiac arrest in the young).
There are homemade cupcakes being baked for the day, lots of treats, WestEndFest merchandise on sale, and an auction that takes place on stage at the interval, which will be hosted by Scott Garnham and Dean McCullough. All funds go directly to the charities being supported.
