International mind reader and psychological illusionist Alex McAleer brings his acclaimed live show to venues across the UK, offering an evening of sharp humour, astonishing mind reading and unforgettable audience interaction.
Blending contemporary mentalism with expert knowledge of human behaviour, sharp wit and natural charisma, McAleer predicts choices, reveals private thoughts, and uncovers meaningful moments from people’s pasts – all delivered with a mischievous sense of humour. From revealing the name of a childhood best friend to guiding entire audiences through a shared psychological experience, no two performances are ever the same.
A Fascinating Career Journey
Based in East Anglia, McAleer’s fascination with mentalism began as a teenager and has since grown into an international career. He has performed across the UK, Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia.
After more than a decade touring internationally as the standout performer with the smash-hit production Champions of Magic – including playing the iconic stage of London’s Hammersmith Apollo and major theatres such as Cleveland’s Palace Theatre – McAleer now headlines his own solo show on tour.
His solo productions have taken him from packed houses at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to sell-out runs in Australia, earning a Cabaret Award nomination at Perth Fringe World.
McAleer’s remarkable stage work has also led to multiple television appearances, including on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, NBC’s Access Hollywood, and Australia’s Today Tonight. In 2019 he realised a childhood ambition by performing on the world’s longest-running children’s TV show, Blue Peter – proudly earning himself an iconic Blue Peter badge.
He is also an author and respected lecturer in mentalism, having written influential books on performance techniques and delivered workshops for fellow performers, including at The Magic Circle in London.

This tour continues the momentum of McAleer’s successful UK run last autumn and marks his most ambitious solo dates to date. More than a traditional magic show, Alex McAleer – Mind Reader is a theatrical evening built around shared moments – funny, intimate and occasionally unsettling – that linger long after the curtain falls.
