On Sunday 11th December, Giggin4Good returns with ‘Christmas goes…POP!’, an evening of festive songs and Christmas number ones, all performed by an array of West End talent – headlined by Danielle Hope, Dianne Pilkington and Kieran Brown.
Danielle Hope shot to fame after winning the BBC talent search Over the Rainbow and playing the role of Dorothy in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s revival of The Wizard of Oz at The London Palladium. Her musical theatre credits also include Eponine in Les Miserables in the West End, Maria in The Sound Of Music UK Tour and the Narrator in the UK tour of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. She also performed a highly acclaimed solo concert at New York’s premiere cabaret venue 54 Below in 2015, where she recorded her live album, “Bring The Future Faster”.
In her illustrious performing career, Dianne Pilkington’s roles include Donna in Mamma Mia, Glinda in Wicked, Grizabella in Cats, Belle in Beauty And The Beast, Mary in Tonight’s The Night, Kim in Taboo and many more.
Kieran Brown, who has performed at several previous Giggin4Good concerts, recently covered and played the role of The Phantom in The Phantom Of The Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre and his other West End credits include roles in Wicked, Love Never Dies and Les Miserables. In 2013 he played the lead role of Doc in the London premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Pipe Dream at the Union Theatre, for which he was nominated for a Broadwayworld UK Award as Best Actor in a Musical.
Giggin4Good was founded in 2010 to raise money for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and its many concerts since then have raised a considerable sum for this worthy cause. However, this year Hayley Howe, one of the founding producers of Giggin4Good, was diagnosed with leukaemia and has received great and stalwart support from MacMillan while receiving treatment, which prompted the producing team to decide that the proceeds from the upcoming concert would be donated to the MacMillan Cancer Support charity.
The full cast for the concert (subject to availability) will include:
Kelly Agbowu, Nathan Amzi, Mark Anderson, Adam Bailey, Andrew Bateup, Jeremy Batt, Lizzie Bea, Lewis Bradley, Kieran Brown, Maria Coyne, James Darch, Jonathan Dudley, Alice Fearn, Danielle Hope, Sejal Keshwala, Jordan Langford, Leigh Lothian, Genevieve Nicole, Brady Issacs Pearce, Dianne Pilkington.
Musical direction will be by Huw Evans.
It promises to be a fun filled evening packed with festive favourites and perhaps a mince pie or two!
