EastEnders star Neil McDermott and Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank are joining the new cast of The Hunger Games: On Stage at Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre this October.
The pair join the show as it enters its second year at the purpose-built 1,200-seat theatre-in-the-round venue in Canary Wharf. Neil will play the wisecracking mentor Haymitch Abernathy and Daniel takes on the flamboyantly camp Caesar Flickerman. New cast performances begin Friday 23 October 2026 at 2.30pm.
They’re joined by an entirely new lead company. Elizabeth Anderson takes over as Katniss Everdeen, with Vinnie Copeland as Peeta Mellark, Nathan Stokes as Gale Hawthorne, Daisy Statham as Prim, Alix Dunmore as Mrs Everdeen, Isabel Della-Porta as Effie Trinket and Theo Ogundipe as Cinna. Hollywood legend John Malkovich continues in his role as President Snow (which is filmed rather than performed live – a directorial choice that’s become one of the show’s biggest talking points).

The Hunger Games: On Stage is the first-ever live theatrical adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ internationally bestselling book and Lionsgate’s blockbuster film franchise. Conor McPherson has adapted the first novel in the series, with acclaimed director Matthew Dunster (2:22 A Ghost Story, Hangmen) staging the production at the purpose-built Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre – a 1,200-seat theatre-in-the-round venue designed specifically to host this show.
The Hunger Games franchise has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, been translated into 52 languages, and grossed more than $3.4 billion at the global box office. The newest film in the series, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, arrives in cinemas in November 2026.

The Hunger Games: On Stage is running at Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, situated in the heart of London’s Canary Wharf. The venue is a short walk from Canary Wharf, North Greenwich and Wood Wharf stations, with the Jubilee, Elizabeth and DLR lines all within easy reach.
