We Won’t Shoot Ourselves was fine. A terribly bland word to use but I think it’s the best word I can use to describe it. It wasn’t bad in anyway but I left the theatre having formed no real opinion of it in my mind.
This is a Spanish play that has been translated into English. All the actors were Spanish which did unfortunately make it hard at times to understand what was being said.
The story is of five friends who get together for a meal and pretend their lives are all fine until slowly it we learn their lives are more of a mess than they wanted anyone to know.
There have only been two performances of this show, tonight was the final one which is sadly, probably for the best.
It is always hard to write negative reviews but my slogan is that I review the best and the worst of London’s theatre. We Won’t Shoot Ourselves isn’t bad, but it’s not very good either.
