London’s Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square is the hottest place in town right now to see your favourite musical theatre performers. The Make A Difference Trust charity have already held fundraising concerts with the casts of Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon and have more coming up with casts of Kinky Boots (10 March) and Wicked (17 March)! These late night cabarets are a great way to see some of your favourite performers outside of the characters they play on stage and gives you a peek into who they really are as people.
On top of those great shows raising money for a great cause, some of the West End’s biggest stars have cabaret shows coming up at the Hippodrome Casino in the next few months.
Bonnie Langford
Thursday 31 March 2016
Bonnie Langford has been on stage and on our TV screens since almost the day she was born and is no stranger to the West End stage, most recently performing in Spamalot and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Bonnie is currently taking TV by a storm in BBC’s Eastenders but is returning to the West End for one night only with a special concert.
Anna-Jane Casey
Friday 15 April 2016
Anna-Jane Casey is soon to star in Annie Get Your Gun at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre but is making a stop off at the Hippodrome Casino first for a night of song and dance. Anna-Jane made her West End stage debut at the age of sixteen as Rumpleteaser in Cats at the New London Theatre. Joseph, Grease, West Side Story, Starlight Express, Chicago and Billy Elliot are just some of the huge shows she has been part of and with a track record like that, the Hippodrome audience of her upcoming cabaret is sure to be in for a treat!
Kerry Ellis
Friday 29 April 2016
Kerry Ellis is no stranger to the Hippodrome Casino, having played many sold out shows and made guest appearances at many others here. She returns for a one night only concert next month after her most recent tour with rock legend and collaborator Brian May.
Frances Ruffelle
Thursday 5 May 2016
After a string of successful shows last year at The Crazy Coqs, Frances Ruffelle will play at the Hippodrome Casino for one night only on 5 May 2016 with her show ‘I Say Yeh-yeh’ based on her new album of the same name. Frances originated the role of Eponine in the 1985 production of Les Miserables and her new album features a brand new version of the hit song ‘On My Own’. If this show is anything like the show I saw last year, it is certainly one you don’t want to miss!
Claire Sweeney
Thursday 2 June 2016
Brookside’s Claire Sweeney has been hot footing it around the UK on tour with the cast of Hairspray recently as well as giving Elaine Paige a run for her money as a musical theatre radio DJ on Magic FM. Claire has performed in many West End shows over the years including Chicago, Tell Me On A Sunday and her recent, self-penned, one woman show Sex In Suburbia. For one night only she will play in the Hippodrome’s beautiful Matcham Room.
